I'm curious to hear about everyone's first handgun. Do you still own it? What's your story behind it? I'd love to hear some memories or see photos if you've got them!
Mine was a S&W Model 19. I no longer have it but replaced it with a Ruger SR1911 and a Glock 48MOS. I'm thinking of swapping the Glock for the Sig P365XL?
In 1973 I purchased the Ruger Security Six .357 Magnum/.38 Special revolver. I still have it and shoot it. I reload the rounds I use in it; Remington bulk .357 JHP 154, CCI primers, 14.5gr of 2400 pdr. I bought it after recommendations of my wife cousin and a couple friends who where PSP officers. PA State Police had changed to that as their Duty weapons back around 1971 I believe. (that is until the realization that the criminal world was fast out gunning the Police world with semi and full auto weapons. This pistol can be completely disassembled to individual parts with any small hard metal item (I use a dime when a screw driver isn't handy). I have sever CC holstering items, all of which are more than adequate for the job, provide you practice with all at some time.
