Daily news reports seem to paint a picture of a world being unstable enough as it is, all the while being increasingly bombarded with new issues and incidents to further destabilize what remains of our current way of life.

So being forward-looking, what are you doing in the way of preparations? Mainly, are you laying in a larger supply of ammo ? Are you buying guns ? Food? What ? How are you (or are you at all) hedging for the future ?

I'm an old guy, and my days of runnin' and gunnin' are well over. Bug-out is not in my plan at all. I'm in the process of stripping my storage of non-essentials, kind of dump the overburden and pray for the vigor to outlast the turmoil. I've a small stash of the ammo I'm equipped to use, plus I have a small amount of odd-ball cartridges loaded left over from previously owned and shot firearms - 30-06, 303BRIT, 8mm, and stuff like that, which may be trade-material.

Of course, I'm keeping my reloading gear and supplies, maybe laying in a small amount of whatever I can when I can of ammo.

I'm taking a measured approach too, keeping a modest ammo stash, maintaining my reloading supplies, and focusing on essentials. No crazy stockpiling, just enough to feel prepared without overdoing it

Recently, I started paring down my storage too, I kept only essentials and a modest ammo stash for my carry and hunting guns. It felt good knowing I could handle short-term disruptions without being overloaded
