My wife and I are Garage keepers. Toyota Highlander . I've had 2 Doge trucks each for 12 years, 2 Toyota Tacoma's over 8 years and then a 4Runner for 6years and now the Highlander. Always kept in a Garage and never had Rust.

On July of 2000 I was involved in a head on collision. A girl driving in the opposite lane, who had just stolen her boyfriend's car, crossed over the lane divider and hit me head on. My '97 Camry was totaled. Then on August I went to the Toyota dealer and purchased a new 2000 4Runner. After picking it up and driving back home, I stopped by the shop that places extended bumper rails on Austin Police vehicles. I had the shop add those rails to my new 4Runner. I figured that if another dumb a$$ wants to hit me head on, they will pay the price and my 4Runner will be spared. Anyway, after 25 years I still have and use my 4Runner. I have never had any issues with it. It runs perfectly. Yep, the AC still works as it did on day 1.
