Hey everyone! I thought it'd be great to start a thread about gun shops that we trust and want to recommend (or warn others about!). I've been to a few places around here, and I always find it helpful to hear what others think.

What makes a gun shop trustworthy to you? Is it knowledgeable staff, a good selection of used guns, or fair prices? I've had some great experiences at my local shop, but I've also faced a few bumps along the way with others.

Have you found a gem in your area? Or maybe had a not-so-great experience? I'd love to hear about the places that are worth a visit or those to steer clear of. Feel free to mention locations, prices, transfer fees, or anything else you think matters!

Though I don't get into LGS as often as I used to, here in Southern PA so many old favorites have closed and so many new ones have opened that it is hard to make a recommendation. I've had a bad, sad experience with "Consignment" at one shop of four years existence that seems to do a fair amount of business (he "lost" a magazine for a semi-auto pistol that cannot be replaced for less than $55.00, but when I went back to him two months later, stating that the replacement would cost me that much plus postage, he remarkably "found" it in ten seconds).

However, there is ONE shop that has been operating for over 45 years in Waynesboro, PA, that I would recommend to any serious collector HEROLD'S. He used to be a full service gun and outdoor shop, but in his later years, has contracted his business to the higher-end collectors and others who seek the ultimate in gun shops.
