After more deer seasons than I care to admit, I’ve tried both tree stands and still hunting and learned some humbling lessons. Tree stands are comfy… until your butt goes numb, you forget snacks or you realize you’re stuck up there in 20-degree wind. Still hunting keeps you moving and awake but nothing tests your stealth like accidentally stepping on a dry branch and hearing the entire forest laugh at you. Both work if you pay attention, but I’ve found the combo of patience and timing is what actually fills the freezer. What’s your go-to method?
