I picked up a rifle in .300 Blackout last year because I got a good deal. Problem is I've only found ammo for it twice and it was expensive both times. Gun just sits there looking pretty. Anyone else buy something and then realize ammo's impossible to get?

243 wssm. Luckily I have about 6 loaded boxes and 8 boxes of brass. There should always be bullets available. Last 2 boxes I saw for sale on a shelf were $125 each.

Being a reloader has eliminated any concerns I may have had when considering a new build. Many years ago I built a .280 Ackley Imp, a .338-06, and a .25 SST. None of these are exactly easy to find factory ammo for, but I always made sure I had a couple of hundred cases, and the reloading dies in hand before I ordered the build. I suppose the day may come when someone that inherits these rifles may have trouble selling them to anyone that’s not a reloader. But for me, I’ve had a lot of fun hunting and shooting these cartridges!
