Summer always feels like the slow season for hunting, but it’s the perfect time to get a jumpstart before everything kicks into high gear. I’ve been checking my gear and trail cams while trying to keep my fitness up, but I can't shake the feeling I'm forgetting something important, so I'm curious what everyone else does to prep this time of year.

We run our coonhounds every night and i throw 50lbs in my pack ,so we get in 5-10 miles a night with the pack on and that keeps me pretty good for my fall hunts

Mostly just reloading and testing on woodchucks. Time to get the dust blown out of the flintlocks...

I clean, repair, or replace gear as needed. Load a lot of ammo. We also work on blinds as needed and keep up our food plots. In years past, I would procrastinate till the last moment. Doing it all summer makes things a lot simpler come hunting seasons.
