Ear protection (foam, muffs, or electronic)?

I’ve used all three over the years and each has its place depending on the situation. Foam is cheap and effective, muffs are easy and electronic makes communication a lot nicer. What do you prefer for hearing protection and when do you switch it up?

When I go to the range myself, I grab foam earplugs. But I use electronic ones when I'm with friends or in classes. Earmuffs come out when it's cold. I switch depending on what's comfortable and what the situation is.

Decibulz! I swear by them. Custom, moldable and comfortable. The ones I use are percussive. You are able to have normal conversation and they close with close with the loud noise. There are a handful of us using them and everyone likes them. Best part is you can wear them for long periods of time without discomfort.

I shoot a lot, but have the benefit of a private range. Still however, I generally double-up with both foam and muffs. (My ear muffs are electronic too, but in my situation, where I’m generally shooting alone, I seldom turn them “on”. Shooting suppressed really helps too, but even with the suppressor attached I still double-up.
