Over the past 2 years I found two really great rifles that are super accurate and very inexpensive. First up is the Savage Axis. I have them in 223, 350 Legend, 308 and 6 ARC. These all shoot sub MOA with the 6 ARC shooting sub 1/2 MOA. As for the triggers, I prefer the models without the Accutrigger and install a Mcarbo pro trigger kit in it. I do have a couple with the Accutrigger and because I like a light trigger I was able to remove the Accutrigger and modify the spring to give me a lighter pull. There are videos on this on Youtube and its easy to do. They also make replacement triggers for them. Rifle Basix is a good on that I have on my 308. I was thinking on getting a new chassis for my 6 ARC but I'm afraid it might not shoot as well as it does!
Next up the CVA Scouts. I have them in 44 mag, 45-70 and 35 Whelen. These also are shooting right around MOA with the 35 Whelen shooting well below that with 250 gr bullets. Even the 44 mag which really surprised me! IMO the Scout would make a great rifle for a beginning shooter just for the safety aspect or a good rifle for someone wanting the challenge of only having one shot. The triggers are really good on these single shots.
I really don't recall when I needed more than one shot but the maneuverability of these Scouts is nice for hunting PA woods.

Wow, that is an impressive collection, those Axis rifles hitting sub-MOA at that price is wild, and the CVA Scouts provide a lot of fun. They are great for hunting or practicing patience with single-shot rifles

I’ve also had good luck with the Savage Axis rifles I like the ones that come with the hard wood stocks add a decent scope and they have all shot really well.
