I’ve been digging into the whole binary trigger thing lately, and honestly, it’s a bit of a maze. I moved to Pennsylvania a couple of months ago and want to make sure I’m not stepping over any legal lines. From what I gather, it seems like the laws can get complicated, and I’m not even sure where to start.

I talked to a couple of local shops, and they had mixed opinions. Some say it’s cool as long as it’s used for legal purposes, while others hinted it might cause headaches with local law enforcement. I guess I’m just trying to play it safe.

If anyone has clear info or has dealt with this before, I’d really appreciate the insight. Also, are there specific guidelines or resources to check out regarding this? Thanks a bunch!

You will find a high population of gun clubs in Pennsylvania but many of them, including the ones to which I belong, prohibit rapid fire (as defined in their rule books). People before you ruined that by blasting away without being able to control where their bullets were going. Range target backer frames were constantly requiring replacement and there always is a question about where all those bullets are ending up.

And here's an olde pharte's question. What's the point of using one?

really I don't see any need for them and in fact I find they could cause a dangerous situation. Why would one want to fire another round when releasing the trigger?

AFAIK the BATFE was considering a ruling on them, leaning against the system. I have heard a lot of "opinion", but have seen no authoritive result yet.
