I'm setting up ammunition storage in my basement and want to ensure I'm doing it properly. My main concerns are humidity control, temperature fluctuations, and long-term preservation, so I'm considering airtight containers with desiccants, but I'm open to other solutions

The main thing I'd add is to get it off the floor, concrete acts like a sponge for moisture, so even a cheap wooden pallet under those airtight cans will buy you serious peace of mind. Your future self will thank you for not having to clean a hundred rounds of green-fuzzed brass

That’s a good plan, man. I’d also toss in a small humidity gauge so you actually know what’s going on down there, it’s one of those cheap tools that saves you guessing and keeps your ammo fresh year-round without overdoing it
