I'm wondering what made you pick your profile pic, some folks use their favorite firearm, a hunting memory or just a good laugh. If you don’t have one yet, what’s holding you back? Let’s hear the meaning (or mischief) behind your DP!

Mine is my old logo that was on all the 1911 pistols I built back in the day been retired for years :)
That’s a cool legacy mark, bet those pistols had some serious personality behind them.

A Frederick Remington painting "The Indian Trapper", I chose to honor my family hometown where the Remington Art Memorial is and part of my heritage.
That’s a strong choice, Remington pieces carry a lot of history and character in them.

Mine is a photo I snapped one spring day right at the end of my driveway. Momma bear wasn’t too happy, and wasn’t going anywhere until her curious cubs came down and out of that tree!
Interesting! Hard to top a bear traffic jam right outside your own front door :)

This was taken while I was participating in a historical battle reenactment at Bushy Run State (PA) Park on the hallowed Battlefield therein. I was a member of the Rangers of the Ohio Company. My persona was a farmer, husband, father, patriot with a militia comprised of farmers, woodsman, rangers (some with military expertise). I was a rear guardsman/snipper. We found recorded documentation for the Ohio Company requirements for riflemen and held required qualifications. I've gotten old enough be physically unable to run the fields and forests reliving the 250 year ago America founding fights. But I relived it, vividly. I still shoot as good as ever!

That’s a great way to keep the history alive. Even stepping back physically, you’re still carrying a big part of the story forward.

I personally feel sad for the now generation of youth. They aren't learning history, of any time; specific place or event; and the Pro's and Con's of the time of what happened as well as the affect it has to them in the here and now! Also they'll have no understanding of how it effects their now world and their potential future....if they'll have one! The real sad part of it all; the educators don't seem to care. (My .02 cents)

That’s a concern a lot of people share. History only really sticks when it’s taught in a way that connects past events to real consequences today. When it becomes just dates and names, it’s easy for students to miss why it actually matters.

I used to live (in the early sixties) in Las Vegas, when they were still doing testing in the Nevada testing range, but I was a sign painter then and there was an alphabet (font) called "Flash" which I first learned to paint. The old guys in the shop called me "Flash" then, and it just sort of stuck.

I read this thread last night and realized that I could have an avatar that was more than just a generic "F", so . . . .
