I spent last weekend working on a load workup for my 6.5 Creedmoor. Trying out a new powder and different bullet weights. I'm eager to see how it performs at the range. What's everyone else working on?
I've had a 6.5 Creedmoor since shortly after Hornady introduced it. I tried the powders that seem most popular, like the 4350s, but Varget worked well for both 120- and 140-grain bullets as these photos will illustrate.
I don't know why the first one insists upon posting sideways but you get the idea. The SD and ES numbers are especially encouraging but, honestly, I have found Varget to be a real go-to powder in medium-capacity cases. The POI of both loads is very close, too - two clicks up or down and either one is zeroed.
